KAA Gent of Belgium winger, Moses Simon is keen on getting a shirt with the club for their first preseason friendly against PAOK Salonika of Greece.
The match comes at a point many media reports are still linking Simon with an exit from Gent, but the former SK Trencin of Slovakia star insists the only thing on his mind for now is the Belgian club’s preseason schedule.
Despite a litany of injuries, Simon was a top performer in the Belgian First Division last season and he looks to have caught the eye of Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp.
At a point, Liverpool were reportedly ready to pay £10m fee for Simon, who has a year left on his contract at Gent.
Simon admitted interest in him from Liverpool, but stressed that, for now, he remains with Gent and happily resumed full training with the team on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old winger, who missed World Cup in Russia due to injury, said he is looking forward to a better season, regardless of where he plays next.
Simon declared: “There was interest from Liverpool, but nothing is concrete. For now, I’m still a player of KAA Gent.
“I’m currently in Holland with the rest of the squad and we are getting ready for the new season. We have a game against PAOK in two days. Hopefully, I might play in that one.”
