Crotone of Italy giant striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwaknwo (Simy) has admitted he had a bitter-sweet end to 2018, as his lower division side lost on an evening he returned to goals scoring form.
Footballlive.ng reports that ‘Simy’ enjoyed his side’s last Serie B fixture of 2018 on a personal note, but his mood was dampened with Crotone letting go a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 away to Ascoli.
It was a game in which ‘Simy’ returned to favour at the relegated club, as he started the second straight game, and opened scoring as early as the ninth minute.
However, it is gloomy at present for ‘Simy’ and Crotone, who are second-bottom of the Serie B table with 13 points, having lost six of their last seven games in the division.
Also in Italy last weekend, this time in the third division, former Inter Milan youth team player, Roberto Ogunseye hit his fifth goal in nine games for Olbia, as he struck in a 1-1 draw at home against Albissola.
The 23-year-old Italy-born striker struck in the 21st minute but his goal was cancelled out eight minutes from time.
