‘Simy’ Enters Anderlecht’s January Transfer Spotlight

Date:

Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) is again in the January transfer spotlight, following reports that he has caught the eye of RSC Anderlecht of Belgium.

Footballive.ng learnt that, so soon after reports about a switch to another Belgian club, SK Lokeren fell flat, ‘Simy’ is said to be keen on a deal with Anderlecht, against a new offer of staying in Italy with Lecce.

‘Simy’ has also received a boost in his preference for the Anderlecht deal, as the club that once paid the wages of Stephen Keshi, Chidi Nwanu, Philip Osundo, Celestine Babayaro and James Obiorah are said to be in advanced discussions with his advisors.

Anderlecht are also said to be in talks with Crotone over their hope in signing of ‘Smiy,’ whose mentors insist they did not get any formal link or approaches from either Lokeren or Lecce.

‘Simy’ has also spoken privately in agreement with public comments by his intermediary that they did not have any contact with both clubs.

Reverse now appears to be the case with Anderlecht, who appear ready to go all the way in sealing a deal for the 26-year-old former Gil Vicente and Portimonense of Portugal striker.

This is despite confirmation that Simy’s contract with Crotone runs until June 30, after first signing in July 2016, but the lanky lad, who has four goals from 17 games in the Italian second division, wants to move on.
