Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) has called for more belief from Nigerian soccer fans in the Super Eagles’ ability to shine at the World Cup in Russia.
The Eagles’ rookie said he is expectant of a glorious outing for the team, as he says the spirit in camp is very high and all the players are determined to perform well.
‘Simy’ said the situation has made him very confident that the team will overcome recent friendly results to excel at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
The former Portugal-based lanky lad, who gate-crashed into the Eagles’ World Cup squad after only popping to limelight this year, said he will make the best use of the opportunity handed him by the coach, Gernot Rohr.
‘Simy,’ who scored seven goals in the Italian Serie A for Crotone, but got relegated to the Serie B, added that the Eagles should not be judged by the results in the friendlies played.
