Six reasons why Eagles will fly at Stade Linité

Date:

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be guests to Seychelles in an important 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Seychelles at the 10,000 capacity stadium, Stade Linité situated at Roche Caiman in the outskirts of Victoria on September 7.

Why should fans be optimistic of three points for the three-time AFCON?
Here are the six reasons as compiled by Footballlive.ng;
The “Oyinbo Combo”
The duo of Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong are formidable central defenders on their day. Their presence will help solidify the back four.
FIFA Ranking
The Eagles’ ranking of 49th in the World as against Seychelles’ 188th makes the task difficult for the hosts. The ranking makes the Nigerian team favourites at Roche Caiman.
Fearsome quartet
Samuel Kalu, Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa and Henry Onyekuru are in good form. The pace of Kalu and Musa will be too hot for the Pirates. Ighalo will offer goals while Onyekuru will be menacing upfront.
Superior midfield
In this department, Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo. They will go gun blazing and looking to dominate possession. They are reliable enforcers. The young Kelechi Nwakali should function as the playmaker in the absence of captain John Obi Mikel.
Depth
The 24-man Eagles team is full of depth in all departments. That’s what makes a winning team.
Motivation
Following the opening day loss to South Africa in Uyo, the Super Eagles will go out for total victory against Seychelles.
