Sporting Lagos is in a tough spot as they get ready to play NPFL leaders, Rangers International.

Relegation-threatened Sporting Lagos have been put on notice by the “Flying Antelopes,” who are determined to secure a win.

In a pre-match statement, the Rangers media team warned that Sporting Lagos will be “fighting the fight of their lives.”
The reverse fixture, held at the Awka City Stadium on December 17, 2023, saw Rangers win 2-0, with goals from Austin Onyemaechi and Agu Kenechukwu.
Rangers coach Fidelis Ilechukwu respects the challenge Sporting Lagos will bring, especially with their new manager, Abdullahi Biffo.
“We expect a good game from Sporting Lagos, but we are very positive about the outcome,” Ilechukwu said.
“We do not underestimate any team. We respect Sporting Lagos and their new coach, Biffo, but we will approach the match as a cup final. We believe our hard work on the pitch will give us the positive result we want.”
Rangers currently sit atop the NPFL table with 60 points, four ahead of defending champions Enyimba, while Sporting Lagos are just a point above the relegation zone in 14th place.
