Rivers United’s Technical Adviser, Stanley Eguma, has praised his team’s hard-fought win against Katsina United, describing it as a “tough one.”
The Pride of Rivers secured a 2-0 victory over the Chanji Boys in their rescheduled matchday 28 fixture on Thursday, with Deputy Echeta and Kazie Enyinnaya finding the back of the net for Rivers United.
Eguma credited the victory to a change in tactics, acknowledging the challenge faced by Katsina United’s defensive setup. In a post-match interview, he explained how hard the team worked to break the opponent’s defense.
“This game was difficult,” Eguma remarked. “The Katsina United team played with a packed midfield and defense, making it difficult to break through. My players did their best, and we had to change tactics to find openings.”
Rivers United managed to secure a vital victory, earning three points to bolster their position in the league. With 40 points from 26 games, they are gearing up to face Bayelsa United in their next fixture in Yenagoa on Monday.
