Sunshine Stars Coach Confident of Top-Flight Survival

Date:

Sunshine Stars head coach, Kennedy Boboye, believes the Owena Waves will maintain their status in the Nigeria Premier Football League by the end of the season.

This comes following their crucial 2-0 away victory against Gombe United on Sunday.

The win reduced the chances of the Akure club avoiding relegation, moving the team to 14th position on the league table.

“I’m glad that we picked the much-needed points in Gombe,” Boboye stated in a post-match interview. “It’s a result we so desired and I’m glad we got it done. Gombe United are not a bad side at all, but that’s football for you. We will keep pushing till the end of the season.”

Sunshine Stars will now focus on their upcoming President Federation Cup quarter-final clash with Kano Pillars on Wednesday.
