The general manager of Sunshine Stars, Tunde Ogunja has been suspended by the Ondo State Government. The announcement of Ogunja’s suspension was made by the Ondo State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Sara Yusuf-Ogunleye, on Tuesday.
Yusuf-Ogunleye explained that the decision to suspend Ogunja is part of the government’s efforts to restructure the club and address internal issues.
“We won’t allow cartels and cabals to survive, and I am determined to move the ministry forward,” Yusuf-Ogunleye stated, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability within the organization.
“I therefore call for the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders for effective performance,” he added, urging cooperation from all parties involved.
Sunshine Stars have been struggling in recent matches, failing to secure a win in their last five games, currently 16th on the NPFL table with 36 points.
