Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has finally unveiled his 30-man provisional list for the FIFA World Cup holding next Month in Russia.
The list was submitted to the Nigeria Football Federation by Coach Gernot Rohr and was released earlier on Monday with Kano Pillars’ Junior Lokosa and Plateau United’s Dele Ajiboye headlining the squad list.
Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr finally rolled out a provisional list of 30 players for this year’s World Cup, with the inclusion of two home-based goalkeepers and one striker from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The list sees a return of Plateau United of Jos goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye in contention for a shirt in the final squad to Russia 2018, along with Enyimba’s Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Kano Pillars striker, Junior Lokosa.
Rohr has also named Rohr has named World Cup veterans Victor Moses, Elderson Echiejile, Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, John Obi Mikel and Eddy Onazi for the provisional squad ahead of the start of a training camp.
Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo has been rewarded for his brilliant form in recent weeks with Rohr including him on the roster and another newcomer, Lokosa.
The duo will face competition from ex-Watford star Odion Ighalo, Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, Gent’s Moses Simon and Chelsea’s Victor Moses for a place in the final 23-man squad.
The Super Eagles will face Democratic Republic of Congo, England and Czech Republic in friendly matches before their trip to Russia for the World Cup.
