Terem Moffi and Moses Simon have been nominated for the prestigious Marc-Vivien Foe award, recognizing the best African Player in Ligue 1.
The Super Eagles Duo have showcased outstanding performances for their respective clubs throughout the season, earning them recognition for the coveted award.
Terem Moffi, who recently marked his 50th Ligue 1 goal in OGC Nice’s 2-1 defeat to Nantes, has been a standout performer for Les Aiglons. The 24-year-old striker has netted 10 goals in 23 league appearances, demonstrating his scoring prowess and impact on the pitch. Moffi’s consistent contributions have earned him a second consecutive nomination for the Marc-Vivien Foe award.
On the other hand, Moses Simon, despite being sidelined due to a fractured ankle suffered on international duty, has left an indelible mark with his performances for his club. The 26-year-old winger has notched three goals and provided six assists in 22 league outings for his team, showcasing his versatility and playmaking abilities.
Both Moffi and Simon aspire to follow in the footsteps of Nigerian football stars Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen, who have previously clinched the Marc-Vivien Foe award.
The Super Eagles duo faces stiff competition from other African talents nominated for the award, including Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Algerian duo Nabil Bentaleb and Amine Gouiri, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Senegal’s Lamine Camara, last season’s winner Chancel Mbemba from DR Congo, Ivory Coast’s Oumar Diakite, Burundian Youssouf Ndayishimiye, and Wilfried Singo of Monaco.
The winner of the Marc-Vivien Foe award will be announced on May 13, with Moffi and Simon eager to add their names to the illustrious list of recipients.
