The Super Eagles of Nigeria opened its camp on Monday for the AFCON 2025 campaign and the players called up have started trooping in.
A total of 18 players are currently in the Super Eagles camp in Uyo as they prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Among the latest arrivals on Tuesday morning are Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Frank Onyeka, who have joined their teammates in camp.
The remaining nine players are expected to arrive later today, with the team set to conduct their first training session tonight at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
However, Fenerbache’s Bright Osayi-Samuel have reportedly pulled out of the squad and have been replaced by Benjamin Tanimu who touched down in Uyo today.
Training and Media Schedule:
- Tuesday: Training session at 5 PM, open to the press (no interviews).
- Wednesday: Press interaction with players at the team’s hotel (Four Points by Sheraton) after lunch. Training sessions are open, but no interviews will be held.
- Thursday: Training sessions will be closed to the media and public.
- Friday: A press conference will be held (time to be announced). The first 15 minutes of the training session will be open to the media.
