Interim head coach Justine Madugu has named a 25-player squad for the Super Falcons’ upcoming international friendly matches against Algeria, scheduled for 26th and 29th October at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala and Houston Dash defender Michelle Alozie are notably absent, but Spain-based forward Gift Monday and team captain Rasheedat Ajibade headline a squad that includes a blend of home-based players and European-based stars.
The friendlies marks the first time the Super Falcons will play on home soil since the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament in 2021.
Madugu’s squad features emerging talents from the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
The Algerian team will arrive in Lagos on Wednesday, with both matches sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and officiated by FIFA match officials from Benin Republic.
