Super Falcons of Nigeria have opened the training camp and began preparations for their return to the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament after 16 years.
The team’s training camp in Jerez de la Frontera, near Sevilla, is now active with 12 players already present. Defenders Osinachi Ohale and Michelle Alozie are expected to join them soon at the Hotel Barceló Montecastillo Golf and Resort.
Historically, Super Falcons’ best Olympic performance was 20 years ago in Athens, where they reached the quarter-finals and finished in 6th place.
The eleven times African Champions will start their Olympic journey against Brazil on July 25 at Stade Bordeaux, followed by games against Spain on July 28 and Japan on July 31 at Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.
