Super Falcons still Highest Ranked African Team in the World

Date:

Nigeria remain in pole position as Africa’s best Women’s football nation based on the latest FIFA World ranking.

The Super Falcons who have qualified to defend the Africa Women’s Cup of Nation later this year are ranked 38th in the World; 9 places above the next ranked African team – Ghana.

There were no movements in or out of the top five in Africa, just accumulation and deduction of points.

The top five still maintain their position with Ghana (47), Cameroon (49), South Africa (50) and Equatorial Guinea (54) appearing in that order.

Globally, the USA, Germany, England, France and Canada make up the top five.

The ranking was released on Friday by the world governing body and the next FIFA Women’s World Ranking will be published on 7 December 2018.
