Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons have promised to rise from their 4-1 loss to Austria on Wednesday, and get back to winning ways against Slovakia in their second group match of the 2019 Cyprus International Women’s Cup.
The Falcons’ slump against Austria on Wednesday was occasioned by a fifth minute sending off for their goalkeeper, Tochukwu Oluehi, but Coach Thomas Dennerby’s lasses believe they will fare better on Friday.
They have resolved to put behind them the disappointment of their scandalous opening defeat by Austria, in order to put their campaign back on track against another European minnow.
This pledged is contained in a message on the Falcons’ official Twitter angle, in which the team’s media department affirmed that the players will bounce back to reckoning against Slovakia and soar high again.
The Falcons’ message read: “FT at AEK Arena: Nigeria 1-4 Austria: 10-woman @NGSuper_Falcons opened their debut @cypruswomenscup campaign on a losing note.
“No hope lost yet, we will fight to bounce back against Slovakia on Friday. #SoarSuperFalcons #CyprusWomensCup #Team9jaStrong #NGAAUT.”
