Nigeria Professional Football League club, Akwa United of Uyo will be playing two friendly games in Port Harcourt this weekend as part of their preparations for the 2018/2019 NPFL season.
The friendlies in Port Harcourt will be Akwa United fourth and fifth pre-season games since the arrival of Coach Rafael Everton in early November.
The Promise Keepers who have recorded two wins out of the the last three pre-season friendlies played so far.
They will be engaging fellow NPFL side Go Round FC of Omoku on Friday afternoon by 4pm in Port Harcourt before facing Rivers United in another friendly on Saturday morning by 8am.
Coach Rafael Everton who requested for the friendlies revealed that the importance of the games is to help in building a strong team for the new season ahead.
The Uyo based side lost 1-0 to Heartland FC in Owerri, before beating Abia Warriors by the same scoreline and defeating Rivers United 2-0 last weekend.
Coach Everton is not expected to travel with a large squad for the two matches but majority of the players that featured in the last two games against Abia Warriors and Rivers United in Uyo last weekend may likely make the short trip to Port Harcourt.
