Goalkeeping department seems to be the greatest strength within the Enyimba International setup as they boast top National Team names in Theophilus Afelokhai, Fatau Dauda and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
The three keepers have all tasted action in goal for Enyimba International in the on going CAF Confederation Cup as they secured a slot in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Speaking exclusively to www.footballlive.ng about his relationship with teammate Theophilus Afelokhai, the Super Eagles World Cup goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa said, “Theophilus Afelokahi is like a brother to me, we are friends also in the national team, when i came into Enyimba and i was keeping he gave me all the support i needed to stand firm in the field of play.”
He went on to describe each goalkeeper within the squad as goalkeeper full of great potential who are supportive of each other regardless who get the nod in goal.
On the quality of goalkeeper within the squad, he said, “We have three top quality goalkeepers in which every one is given an equal opportunities in the club. Theophilus stood by me and still standing by me, he advices me same as Fatau Dauda”
Ezenwa went on to say they held hands together in the spirit of unity to pray together before he went on to keep in the matches against Djoliba of Mali and CARA Brazzaville.
The former Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper concluded by wishing Theophilus well and also prayed for more grace upon them as goalkeepers to do well in the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals.
