Nigerian forward, Tolu Arokodare was the star of the show as Racing Genk secured an historic 4-3 victory over Beerschot in over a decade.
This is their first win at the Olympisch Stadion in Antwerp in over 11 years.
Arokodare, who has been in excellent form, scored twice in the match, including the winning goal that sealed Genk’s hard-fought victory.
The 23-year-old has now netted two goals in each of his last three games, adding to his reputation as one of the standout players in the league this season.
Genk manager, Thorsten Fink hailed Arokodare’s contribution as a his crucial role in the team’s success.
“It’s been 11 years since we last managed to win at Beerschot,” Fink said. “This one is extra special, and Tolu played a massive part in making that happen. His goals gave us the belief and the boost we needed.”
Tolu Arokodare has been key to Genk’s recent resurgence, as the team secured two straight victories following a slow start to the season.
The Belgian club currently sits 5th place on the table, just three points behind the leaders.
