Trabzonspor are reportedly considering a move for Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie as they seek alternatives to their primary target, Paul Onuachu. According to Turkish daily newspaper Milliyet, the Super Lig club is exploring options due to financial constraints in their pursuit of Onuachu.
Southampton has set a 15 million euro price tag for the Super Eagles striker, while Trabzonspor’s current offer stands at 12 million euros. Onuachu impressed during his loan spell at Trabzonspor last season, netting 17 goals and providing four assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.
With negotiations for Onuachu proving potentially too costly, Trabzonspor have identified McBurnie as a viable and more economical backup option. McBurnie’s contract with Sheffield United is set to expire on June 30, 2024, meaning he could join Trabzonspor on a free transfer, presenting a significant financial advantage for the club.
