Udinese of Italy defender, William Troost-Ekong has declared that he and his colleagues in the Super Eagles are highly motivated to gain victory away to South Africa on Saturday.
The Holland-born former Topttenham Hotspur of England youth team player admitted the game at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg will not be easy, but he stressed that the urge to win will spur the Eagles to overcome their hosts.
Troost-Ekong noted further that the array of young talents in the Eagles will add fresh fire to the reverse fixture, unlike when they lost the first leg 2-0 at home, and enthused further that it will be a positive outcome at the end of the encounter at Soccer City.
Troost-Ekong further said the addition of young players in the Eagles had made the Nigerian squad hungrier for success, and says they are all very determined to get a good result in The Rainbow Nation.
“This match is a new challenge for us. There are now new players and they are hungry to make an impact.
“They are hungry to take this chance in the absence of other players and they can surprise South Africa because they want to show what they can do.
“We are highly motivated even though it will be difficult playing away in South Africa,” Troost-Ekong concluded.
