Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong opened his goal account in the Saudi Pro League, netting his first goal during Al Kholood’s 4-2 home defeat to Al Hilal on Saturday.
Facing the reigning champions, Al Kholood seems to stand no chance especially with Al Hilal winning all of their first four league matches.
The visitors lived up to expectations, scoring four goals in a 10-minute. Kalidou Koulibaly, Malcom, Ali Al Bulahyi, and Renan Lodi were all on the scoresheet, leaving Al Kholood with a steep challenge.
The home side managed a brief rally towards the end, with Hammam Al Hammami pulling one back in the 71st minute.
Troost-Ekong added a second for Al Kholood, converting from the penalty spot three minutes from time to reduce the deficit.
Al Kholood has struggled this season, securing just one win from five matches. They currently sit in 12th place on the table with four points.
