Football clubs world over are getting really creative with the announcement and unveiling of players – making us think they’re trying to outdo themselves.
The likes of Besiktas, Villarreal, AS Roma, Manchester United, Arsenal and even Al Nassr; yes even Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia , have shown a fascination for turning the ordinary into remarkable.
On the basis of which League leads in this case, it has to be Turkey – sorry EPL, sorry La Liga, Sorry Serie A.
After Besiktas warmed and won over hearts with their cartoon strip, phone call announcement of signings, a little known MKE Ankaragucu accepted the challenge and did one heck of a job with their latest acquisition.
The Super Lig side unveiled new signing Alessio Cerci with a bizarre Godfather-themed video.
The 31-year-old was a free agent after Hellas Verona’s relegation, having played for the likes of Roma, Torino, Atletico Madrid, Milan and Genoa.
He signed a three-year contract with Ankaragucu, who relied on Italian stereotypes by announcing his arrival with a Godfather video.
