U-17 WWC: Flamingos Striker Downplays Threat of Opponents

Date:

Nigeria’s U-17 Women’s National Team striker, Harmony Chidi, has dismissed the perceived threat posed by their group opponents ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

The Flamingos are placed in Group A alongside Ecuador, New Zealand, and the host nation, but Chidi is confident that her team can overcome all obstacles.

Speaking to FIFA media, she rejected the idea of any team being a real threat to Nigeria’s chances.

“These three teams in our group, they are human beings like us. I don’t believe that any of them is a threat. No matter the team it is, we are beating them.”

“We want to prove a point, and we want to make it count for our coach. All we are thinking about is for us to defeat them,” she added.

The Flamingos are set to begin their group campaign with a match against New Zealand tonight.
