The Nigeria U20 women’s team, known as the Falconets, lost 1-0 to Mexico in a friendly match in Bogota on Monday.
This game is their final preparation for the upcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, which begins on Saturday.
The Ladies had previously won their friendly match against Australia on Friday, last week.
Mexico scored the only goal of the match in the 20th minute. Nigeria fought hard and after several attempts, they couldn’t find the back of the net on the pitch of Club Banco de la República.
NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, praised the team’s performance and encouraged them to stay motivated by their previous victory.
Nigeria will kick off their World Cup campaign on September 2 against Korea Republic at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogota.
The Falconets will then face three-time champions Germany on September 4 before closing the group stage against Venezuela on September 7 in Cali.
