Former Granada of Spain defender, Uche Agbo is heading back to the Land of The Armada, as footballlive.ng can report hat he has sealed a deal with Getafe, who once had Ikechukwu Uche on their cards.
Agbo, who has been on loan at Standard Liege of Belgium since last season, had been hoping for a move to Turkey, but appears to have resigned himself for a return to Spain instead.
Agbo, who early last year enjoyed a stint in the reserves squad of Watford of England, had also on the radar of another Spanish side, Espanyol, but it appears he will now join Getafe on loan this weekend.
The defender-cum-midfielder, who has been capped by both the Flying Eagles and Super Eagles, has two years left on his contract at Liege.
However, Agbo had spoken out repeatedly about his desire for a move, as his appearances for the Belgian club have been limited, but he is keen on being part of Nigeria’s squad to this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
