Former Nigerian international, Duke Udi has said that only three African countries are on the level of the super eagles of Nigeria. Udi mentioned that only Senegal, Morrocco and Egypt are on par or superior to the Nigerian national team.
He mentioned that the team just require the mentality, and for the players to bring their A game to conquer.
“Super eagles have the quality above almost all African countries. Only three countries are on the same level as Nigeria: Morrocco, Senegal and Egypt. Only those three nations can be said to be better than Nigeria. The players just need to bring their A game. Once we bring our A game, nobody would be able to stand us in Africa. Even players that are on our bench would be superstars in other countries, where we’re getting it wrong is with mentality of the players”, said Udi.
Nigeria have been grouped in group D, alongside Libya, Benin Republic and Rwanda for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. The team still have an uphill to climb in their bid to qualify for the 2026 world cup as well.
