Uganda’s plan to get another away win against Nigeria in Tuesday’s international friendly suffered a slight setback, as The Cranes were delayed for six hours at the airport on their way out of Kampala.
Footballlive.ng gathered that The Cranes were still in buoyant mood, following their qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, but the euphoria was somewhat dampened by the delayed flight at Entebbe Airport.
Uganda’s coach, Sebastien Desabre, however, downplayed the issue, as he insists all 18 players he selected for the game at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba are fully focused on the mission at hand, as they aim to repeat the feat of an away win they got back in 2015 in Uyo.
However, Desabre took The Cranes to Nigeria without their skipper, Denis Onyango, despite retaining majority of players who were in action on Saturday, including goal scorer Patrick Kaddu.
The two goalkeepers who traveled with the team are Salim Jamal and Charles Lukwago.
Also in the squad are Nico Wadada, Godfrey Walusimbi, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Khalid Aucho, Denis Iguma, Moses Waiswa and Patrick Kaddu.
Others are Isaac Muleme, Timothy Denis Awany, Isaac Isinde, Allan Kyambadde, Taddeo Lwanga, Ibrahim Sadam Juma, Milton Karisa, Allan Kateregga and Derrick Nsibambi.
