Ahead of the Super Eagles’ AFCON qualifier against Benin Republic, former Nigeria international Nduka Ugbade has expressed his pride in seeing an all-Nigerian technical crew leading the senior national team.
Ugbade, who has worked closely with each of the current coaches in the past, shared his excitement about their collective experience guiding the Super Eagles in an interview with Brila.net.
“I’m really proud, Eguavoen was my senior in the under 20 and then we played together, and Ogunmodede himself was one of my assistant with Remo Stars, and Ilechukwu was also my assistant at MFM. It’s great to see the three of them working together now.”
The technical crew has been well leading with Nigeria top of the Afcon table with 10 points needing just a point to qualify.
The Super Eagles are set to face Benin Republic in their AFCON qualifier today at 8 PM Nigerian time.
