Ugbade unruffled despite MRI setback to Eaglets squad

Date:

Assistant coach of Nigeria’s U17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, Nduka Ugbade has confirmed that two more players have failed the mandatory MRI age test in Niamey, Niger Republic.

The ex international however noted that there’s no cause for alarm as the situation is well managed.
Nigeria will begin their campaign for a place in the 2019 U17 Africa Cup of Nations against their Burkinabe counterparts in Niamey on Monday afternoon. Kickoff is 4pm.
Ugbade remains optimistic that they will achieve something with what they have left in the camp.

“We aren’t happy with the development as this has depleted our team for the competition,” Ugbade told Footballlive.ng.

“No one wants to forego his best weapon for the battle ahead.”

“We have a game against Burkina Faso. All we need is to go to the field and prove our mettle.”

“The young lads are in tournament mood. They won’t be swept away with the pressure,” he added.
