Elche of Spain goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho was on Monday filled with lamentations, after his club confirmed that he will be out of action due to a rib injury copped on Sunday.
With initial doubts over the extent of damage eventually confirmed from a second check on Monday at the club’s base, footballlive.ng report that Uzoho is devastated he will not be able to report to the Super Eagles’ camp this weekend as previously planned.
Uzoho admitted he will miss the Eagles AFCON qualifier in South Africa after Elche announced he suffered a fracture against Cadiz and will be out for at least four weeks.
Elche disclosed that a scan showed that Uzoho had suffered a seventh grade fracture during the second division league clash at Cadiz, in which the 19-year-old shot-stopper conceded five goals.
Uzoho admitted he was disappointed to let in five goals, but said the bigger blow for him is that he will be sidelined for several weeks and miss action with the national team on November 17 in Jo’Burg.
Uzoho posted: ”Injury is part of the game, definitely not the best timing but there are things beyond us.
”So sad I won’t be there for my teammates for the next 4 weeks, they’re more than capable to get the job done.”
