Elche of Spain goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho has sent a message of thanks to the club’s fans for inspiring the team to a 2-0 win over Malaga on his full debut in the Spanish Segunda.
Uzoho said he was happy to keep a clean slate in the second division clash on Friday night, after which he thanked the fans and equally acknowledged the efforts of his teammates.
The 19-year-old Super Eagles’ first choice, who is on a season-long loan to Elche from former La Liga giants, Deportivo La Coruna made four outstanding saves in the encounter, which he put down to adequate coverage from his pals in the defence line.
Neider Lozano put Elche upfront in the 36th minute before Borja Martinez increases the home side advantage in the second three minutes after the hour mark to sealed second win of the season after ten games.
The game was Uzoho’s second appearance for Elche and his first Segunda B game since arriving on loan this summer at the side that moved up to 14th position with 11 points from ten games.
Uzoho, whose side will host Real Zaragoza at home in their next league game, posted: “Good performance guys, the fans, we felt your support throughout the game.”
