Victor Boniface Struggles Again as Nigeria Narrowly Beat Libya

Date:

Victor Boniface and wait for a goal in Nigeria colors continued as he failed to find the net in the Super Eagles’ 1-0 win against Libya on Saturday.

Much of the pre-match spotlight was on Boniface, waiting to see if the Bayer Leverkusen star would finally break his duck in his ninth international appearance. However, it was not to be.

In the 74 minutes he was on the field, the forward struggled to impose himself on the game, offering little of the goal-scoring threat he is known for in Germany.

His only real chance came from a deflected header that went wide.

Taiwo Awoniyi, who replaced Boniface in the second half, also struggled to make an impact, barely seeing the ball during his time on the pitch.

For now, Victor Boniface is still searching for his footing in international football.
