Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, who scored the match-winning goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, was involved in a serious car accident shortly after the game on Saturday.
Boniface, who played the hero in the Bundesliga clash by netting both a penalty and the winning goal for his side, shared photos of the aftermath on his social media.
The images revealed the wreckage of his car and his hand covered in blood, along with a picture of the player lying in a hospital bed.
In his post after surviving the accident, Boniface wrote, “Na so una for hear say my enemy don die. Thank you, Lord. God is the greatest.”
Though shaken by the incident, the Super Eagles star is reportedly recovering well.
Boniface’s performance earlier that evening helped maintain Bayer Leverkusen’s strong form in the league.
His quick recovery will be crucial for the club as they continue their push for success this season.
