Chelsea winger, Victor Moses has been hit with another setback, as a back injury has knocked him out of what could have been a rare chance of playing in the Europa League, footballlive.ng reports.
Moses would have loved to use Thursday’s match against PAOK Saloniki to regain some relevance with The Blues but, when it appeared he would get some minutes of play, a knock in the back stopped him altogether.
This much has been confirmed by Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, who said Moses could have been on his cards for the home fixture had he been fully fit to feature.
Moses, who has not started a single competitive game for Chelsea since September 26, when he went the distance against Liverpool in the League Cup, had initially been contention to make his seventh appearance of the season in all competitions.
However, he will no longer be on the pitch at Stamford Bridge, when The Blues Chelsea host former Arsenal youth team striker, Chuba Akpom’s club on Thursday.
Sarri confirmed that Moses will play no part in the game against the Greek Super League side due to a back problem.
”The last problem is Moses. I spoke with the doctor and he has a back problem this morning, so I think he will not be able to play,” Sarri said.
