Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has given an update on his recovery following an injury he sustained on September 28 during a 3-3 draw against Kasımpaşa in the Turkish Super Lig.
Osimhen scored two goals in the to help Galatasaray take a three-goal lead before being substituted at halftime due to the injury.
As a result of the injury, the 25-year-old has been left out of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
He has also missed Galatasaray’s last two matches, including a 2-2 draw against Rigas Skola in the UEFA Europa League.
After Galatasaray’s 1-0 win over Alanyaspor, where he watched from the stands, Victor Osimhen provided a positive update, stating he expects to return to action “after the international break,” according to Fanatik.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, Osimhen has had an immediate impact, contributing two goals and four assists in just four matches across all competitions.
In Osimhen’s absence, Nigeria’s interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has called up Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Boniface, and Taiwo Awoniyi for the October AFCON qualifiers.
