Victor Osimhen has confirmed he will not be joining Chelsea in the January transfer window, instead choosing to honor his loan spell with Turkish giants Galatasaray until season’s end.
The 25-year-old Nigerian striker, who was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last summer, made his stance clear following his fourth goal for Galatasaray in their 2-1 Istanbul Derby win over Besiktas on Monday.
“Yes, I am here,” Osimhen stated when asked about his plans for the second half of the season, according to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, Victor Osimhen has been in exceptional form, scoring in three consecutive league matches.
He has scored four goals and provided four assists in six appearances.
With Osimhen’s confirmation to remain in Turkey, Chelsea may have to wait until the summer of 2025 to pursue the former Lille forward.
The Turkish Super Lig leaders currently sit six points clear at the top of the table with 28 points from 10 matches, bolstered by an impressive record of eight wins and two draws across their last 10 games.
