Victor Osimhen is in contention for the top goal scorer’s award in the Belgian Jupiler League after the young forward netted his eight league goal of the season in Charleroi’s 2-0 win over Gent on Friday.
Osimhen, who joined the Belgian outfit on loan from German Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, is currently Charleroi’s joint top scorer in the League so far this season.
The Nigeria international notched up a striker’s goal against Gent, a delight for the home fans inside the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.
Osimhen timed his run just a few yards inside the opposition’s half; flanked by defenders. He allowed a bounce, calmly settling it before he took a first time hit.
He had to work off the defender, shielding the ball well as he fired his side into the lead on 86 minutes.
A second goal came for Charleroi 8 minutes later; inside additional time, and the win sent them two points clear inside the Championship playoff spot.
