Waldrum Blames Super Falcons Performance on Poor Preparation

Date:

Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum, has suggested that inadequate preparation contributed to his team’s disappointing performance at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The former African champions were eliminated at the group stage, losing all three of their matches.

The team spent two weeks in Sevilla, Spain, before the start of the competition and also lost 1-0 to Canada in their only pre-Olympic friendly.

Waldrum believes that more time in camp could have made a difference for the Super Falcons.

“We prepared for them [all three opponents] based on the fact that we haven’t had a lot of time,” Waldrum said.

“We missed the last window before the Olympics and so we missed 10 days of good training before the Olympics.”
