Waldrum Sheathes His Sword, Ends Feud with Super Falcons Fans

Date:

Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum has sent out a message to the fans back at home to keep the support coming as he assures them that Nigeria will not disappoint against European champions, England in their round-of-16 match at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Against all odds, the Super Falcons surmounted many challenges to qualify from a group that housed co-hosts Australia, Olympic Champions Canada, and the Republic of Ireland, all of whom ranked significantly higher than the Nigerian team.

Recognizing the support of the Nigerian fans back home, Waldrum appreciated the positive energy from the fans and encouraged them to do more.

“To all the people back in Nigeria, number one, we appreciate all of the support,” the 66-year-old American said.

“I know there’s been times that they haven’t been on my side, but I think they can see the work we have put in and the work the team has put in, they’re prepared as well as we possibly can.”

“Rest assured these players are going to give you everything they have, they are going to give you every ounce of pride in the country and pride in wearing the jersey, and I would expect them to come out flying against England.

“We believe we can get a result and I think the players believe that too. so continue to support us, keep sending us all of those great vibes all the way from Nigeria and hopefully we’ll be having more days to discuss this after Monday.”
