Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has placed high expectations on the team as they gear up for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles have commenced preparations with a high level of morale and focus, according to the team’s Media Officer, Promise Efoghe who held an exclusive interview with Brila.net.
“Morale is high here, everyone knows the task ahead,” Efoghe stated.
“We just finished a meeting where Coach Eric Chelle shared his mission, and everything points to the fact that he knows what he wants.”
Super Eagles Camp Fills Up with 23 Invited Players
The Camp is now complete with to 23 players, following Sadiq Umar and Alhassan Yusuf arrival on Tuesday night.
The Super Eagles will resume full training under new head coach Eric Chelle as they gear up for their must-win fixtures.
Chelle Confident in Players’ Quality
According to Efoghe, Coach Chelle is highly optimistic about the team’s chances, citing the quality of players at his disposal.
“He believes he has some of the best players to work with, and he’s very excited to be the Nigerian coach.”
The Malian-born tactician, who took over from José Peseiro, has wasted no time in setting ambitious targets for his tenure.
“He wants to be at the World Cup, and he even dreams of winning the World Cup. Additionally, he wants to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in December.”
Road to Qualification
Nigeria, currently struggling in Group C with just three points from four matches, must secure victories against Rwanda (March 22) and Zimbabwe (March 26) to revive their World Cup qualification hopes.
With Eric Chelle setting a bold vision for the Super Eagles, the team will look to translate their high morale into positive results on the pitch.
