We played to win but also didn’t want to take any risks. Rohr

Date:

Nigeria are through to next year’s AFCON with a game to spare after they drew 1-1 with home team Bafana Bafana today in Johannesburg.

Nigeria now tops Group E confidently with a 10 point after picking a point in South Africa .
It’s known that Nigeria has gotten a straight qualification for the AFCON 2019 and the next World Cup  as well.
Speaking after the match was the German Franco head of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr.
Coach Gernot Rohr has said the Super Eagles played to beat South Africa today but at the same time they did not want to take too many risks.
“South Africa are a very good team and in the second half, they made it very difficult for us after we started the game very well.”
Also speaking  was the head coach of the Bafana Bafana Stuart Baxter.
The South Africa coach Stuart Baxter vowed his team will continue to fight for their qualification ticket away to Libya in March.
Bafana Bafana, who are second in Group E with nine points from five matches, need to avoid defeat to seven-point Libya to book their passage.
“I am disappointed and at the same time proud that we took four points off the Super Eagles,” he said.
We should have been braver especially in the second half but it seems we were instead nervous.
We will fight on against Libya Baxter concluded.
