We Will Perform at Our Highest Level – Okoye Confident in Upcoming Qualifiers

Date:

Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to excel in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Super Eagles are set to face the Cheetahs of Benin in their first match of the qualifiers, followed by a clash with the Amavubi of Rwanda next week.

In June, Benin’s Gernot Rohr led his team to a 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles. However, Nigeria will be aiming for redemption and to make their supporters proud despite recent challenges.

Speaking on NFF TV, Okoye emphasized the significance of the upcoming games. “Very important games upcoming.

For sure they play a mental role but we are getting prepared for this now and for sure we will get the win because these are very important qualifiers and we have to be at our best and perform on our highest level,” Okoye stated.

Although Okoye made his return to the national team in June, he has yet to feature in recent matches due to Nwabali being the first-choice goalkeeper.

Okoye will be looking to reclaim his spot and gain valuable game time during these crucial qualifiers.
