WEEK 5 NPFL: NO ROOM FOR MEDIOCRITY, SAYS NRA

Members of the  Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, who are taking part in the NPFL have been charged to apply best practices while discharging their duties to avoid complaints from other stakeholders involved in the league.

President of the association, Otunba Tade Azeez while reacting over the move by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Referees Committee to sanitize the refereeing system in the domestic league averred that there would be no sacred cows if  anyone is involved in acts not in conformity with the Law’s of the Game.
While confirming that based on Referee Assessors reports and other instruments used for  monitoring match officials, performances of some referees who handled matches from week 1 to 4  are being looked into before they are reappointed for matches again, Otunba Tade added that the NRA in conjunction with the NFF Referees Committee will be in all league centres for monitoring henceforth.
In the week 5 matches,  Lagos based FIFA referee, Quadri Adebimpe who added a year in his age yesterday and fresh from an international outing will control proceedings in Damaturu where Yobe Desert Stars host Heartland FC of Owerri. Quadri will be assisted by Adamu Zaka (JG) and Ogar Saviour (CR) with FCT based Victor Ijeremen the Assessor.
The oriental derby in Enugu; Rangers vs Enyimba which has the NRA Secretary General and seasoned administrator,  Prince Moroof Oyekunle Oluwa of the FCT council as Assessor shall be handled by Hope Igho of Lagos to be assisted by Agbagbatu Christopher of Delta and Bauchi based  Supol Musa Musari.
Newly badged FIFA Referee for Futsal soccer, Ahmed Rabiu of Kano will lead another FIFA referee, Celestine Efozia, Edo council  and Sanusi Mohammed of Adamawa to the all North Central clash between Lobi Stars vs Kwara Utd. The Assessor is Mustapha of Borno.
In the Wikki Tourist vs Sunshine Stars encounter, the South East Zonal Coordinator of the NRA, Ichie Felix Odionye will act as the Assessor, a medical doctor from the Anambra council, Dr Chimezie Udennaka is the referee, while Tijani Ndalim and a top class FIFA woman referee, Mimisen Iyorhe of Niger and Benue councils respectively act as assistants.
