Chelsea have left Cole Palmer, Wesley Fofana, and Romeo Lavia out of their squad for the UEFA Conference League group stage. The club announced their 29-man squad, which includes players like Pedro Neto, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Jadon Sancho.
Though Palmer played 55 games last season and even scored in the Euro 2024 final, he won’t be part of Chelsea’s Conference League squad for now. A new list can be submitted for the knockout phase starting in February.
Chelsea will face teams like Gent, Panathinaikos, Heidenheim, Astana, Noah, and Shamrock Rovers in the group stage.
Cole Palmer is set for a long season, as Chelsea will also compete in FIFA’s revamped Club World Cup next summer in the U.S., thanks to their 2021 Champions League win.
Chelsea are currently 11th in the Premier League under new manager Enzo Maresca, following a sixth-place finish last season under Mauricio Pochettino.
