Nigeria National League (NNL) team, Wikki Tourist FC have fired their head coach, Azeez Audu as a result of his team’s inability to advance to the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs.
The tactician’s exit was confirmed on the team’s Social Media account.
According to the statement, “Wikki Tourists FC wishes to inform the public and our esteemed supporters that, after careful consideration and review of our season, the club has decided to terminate the contract of our Technical Adviser (Head Coach), Mr. Azeez Audu, effective and immediately.”
“This decision comes as a result of Mr Azeez Audu’s inability to meet the performance targets set by the club at the beginning of the season.
“As a club with high ambitions and a commitment to excellence, we must take decisive action to ensure we are on track to achieve our goals. We appreciate Mr Azeez Audu’s for his contributions during his tenure and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
While they look for a long-term replacement, Wikki Tourist has appointed Bashir Saleh, the club’s chief coach, to serve as an interim coach.
