Wolverhampton Wanderers have hijacked a deal to sign Pedro Lima from Sport Recife, just days after the young Brazilian right-back had verbally agreed to join Chelsea.
Sport Recife confirmed the deal with Wolves for the 2006-born player through an official club statement.
Sport Recife’s official statement read: “The agreement with Wolves is subject to customary conditions. Medical examinations will be conducted by the English club and need to be approved.”
The 17 year-old defender signs a package agreement worth £8.5 million with Wolves.
Lima will report to the first team and be named the team’s player when he turns 18.
“It has a binding agreement to transfer the rights of Pedro Lima to Wolves,” stated a statement from Sport Recife.
