Wrexham Signs Arthur Okonkwo on Permanent Transfer

Date:

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has expressed his delight after securing the permanent transfer of Arthur Okonkwo from Arsenal.

The 22 year-old spent last season on loan at Wrexham, where he made an impact with 40 appearances and 16 clean sheets.

Under Okonkwo’s contributions, Wrexham finished second in Sky Bet League Two, earning promotion to League One.

The goalkeeper has now signed a three-year contract with Wrexham.

“We’re delighted with the signing. It’s such an important one for us,” Parkinson stated on the club’s official website. He emphasized Okonkwo’s outstanding performance last season and highlighted the hard work behind the scenes to secure this signing.

Parkinson added, “It’s never straightforward, but we’ve always said it’s important to have perseverance to try and get your number one target – and Arthur Okonkwo certainly was that. It’s a great first signing of the summer for us.”
