WTO DG Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Drums Support for Super Falcons

Nigeria WNT continue to earn praises following the team’s remarkable 0-0 draw against Canada in their opening match of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the latest to drum support is the influential figure of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala – the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

In a statement following Nigeria’s game, Okonjo-Iweala expressed her confidence in the Super Falcons and backed them to secure a big result against Australia.

 

“Hello, Super Falcons! Congratulations on an incredible effort in your draw with Canada. Wishing you the best in the upcoming Australia match up!!!” she wrote.

The draw against Canada, who are ranked higher, demonstrated the resilience and determination of the Nigerian side to compete at the highest level of women’s football.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s support surely serves as an inspiration to the players and a motivation to continue their journey in the Women’s World Cup.
