Yemi Olanrewaju is set to officially sign his contract as the head coach of Enyimba FC on Friday. The 32-year-old tactician took over the reins of the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions on an interim basis following the departure of former head coach Finidi George in May.
Olanrewaju was previously offered the role of assistant coach by his former boss Finidi, who has now taken charge of Rivers United. Despite the offer, Olanrewaju opted to stay with Enyimba and will now lead the club as a full-time head coach for the first time in his career in the Nigerian top flight.
This appointment marks a significant milestone for Olanrewaju as he embarks on his journey as the main man at the helm of one of Nigeria’s most prestigious football clubs having worked his way to the position from Magate FC, MFM FC and Vandrezzer FC. He was also an assistant to former Golden Eaglets head coach, Nduka Ugbade.
